Reminder- New Water Heater Requirements April 15th

Beginning April 15th, new water heater requirements will be in effect.  While this does not mean that you have to replace your water heater before then, you may want to consider doing so to avoid cost hikes and space related changes.

The new requirements will ultimately save money, reduce carbon pollution, and enhance our overall energy security, but their initial changes can affect you and your family.

Some of the changes are:

  • Higher priced units – up to 35% more expensive
  • Larger units
  • More complicated installation methods – cost of installation may increase
  • Possible home remodeling costs if water heater doesn’t fit in your space
For more information, click here.  After April 15th, manufacturers cannot produce or sell water heaters that do not adhere to these requirements, however wholesalers can still sell them in their warehouses until their inventory is gone.

Give us a call today at 516-874-7937 for more information on these new regulations or to book a consultation, where we can evaluate your current water heater and provide you with options on the next steps.
