As much as we don’t want to admit it, cooler weather is on the horizon. But just because the temperatures will drop soon, doesn’t mean you need to be uncomfortable. Aside from radiant heating, a great way to stay toasty during the cooler months is to invest in a floor heater. Between having cleaner air and lowering energy bills, floor heaters have many perks:
Reduce allergies. Floor heating as opposed to radiant heating can be especially beneficial for people who suffer from allergies. Since you’re not using a forced air system, you are less likely to blow allergens into and around your home. Not to mention you won't have to deal with all that dust that gets blown around too.
Be flexible with furniture. If all your heat is coming from radiant heating, then you need to be careful as to not block vents and baseboards. Choosing a floor heater, on the other hand, means you don’t have to worry as much about strategically placing your couch and chairs far from walls just to maximize air flow.
Evenly distribute heat. It's common for heaters to warm up one spot of your home but not another. However, when you install heated floors, you can rest assured that your heat will be evenly distributed.
Lower energy costs. Heating your floors is energy-efficient, which means you'll have more control over your energy bills at the end of each month. When used in conjunction with other heating methods, floor heaters can help you stay cozy, which is a major benefit if you’re trying to save money.

Putting a Stop to Those High Heating Bills
Colder days are coming to New York and to keep our toes toasty we love cranking up that heat. However, the quicker you crank it the quicker you'll see those heating bills fly up with it.
There are a few simple things we can do to maintain costs that we often just forget about. Here's a quick reminder so you can see 5-10% of savings on your heating bills this winter:
Set your thermostat back a few degrees. Set the heat to turn on only when you need it. For example, if your out all day at work or school, set it to turn on only an hour before you usually arrive home.
Replace your furnace filter once a month. This prevents your furnace from clogging and shutting down - making it more efficient.
Keep cold air out of your home. Stick old towels, rugs, sweatshirts at the base of your door to seal out any cracks that are letting cold air in.
