Celebrate Father’s Day on Long Island

Father’s Day is around the corner! Take some time to show Dad how much you appreciate him. From great restaurants to exciting outdoor activities, there’s plenty for you and your father to do together on Long Island. Below are some ideas to inspire your plans for this weekend:

Food lovers. Treat your father to brunch or dinner on Sunday! What dad doesn’t love a stack of delicious pancakes and Eggs Benedict? Check out Library Cafe in Farmingdale for an earlier meal or City Cellar in Westbury for a steak and live jazz music.

Arts and Crafts.
If your dad appreciates the arts, take him to a museum. The Heckscher Museum of Art is celebrating Father’s Day by giving him a free pass! Visit an exhibit with over 2,100 art collections and a number of educational programs. You’ll both enjoy a memorable experience, and he’ll love the discount!

Outdoor Exploration.
Dads love the great outdoors. If the anticipated rain holds up this weekend, explore some nature together at Sunday Seatuck Family Nature Club in Islip. Learn about seasonal birds, trees, and signs of the season - something you can talk about even after your day trip is over.

What are your Father’s Day plans this year? Share them with us on our Facebook page. And don’t worry if you run into any plumbing issues over the weekend. We’re here to help! Nassau Plumbing & Sewer Rooter is here for your emergency needs 24 hours - 7 days a week. Give us a call at 516.874.7937 or visit our website for more information.

Celebrate Memorial Day on Long Island

Looking for things to do this Memorial Day Weekend on Long Island? From traditional parades to backyard barbeques, there’s plenty of festivities for everyone to enjoy. With three days to celebrate, get the most out of your weekend with these events:

Bethpage Air Show.
Kick off the summer season on Saturday at Jones Beach State Park by seeing the annual Bethpage Federal Credit Union Air Show. For just a small fee, you can see the famous Air Force Thunderbirds perform for the first time in years!

Memorial Day Fireworks. On Saturday night, it’s all about lights in the sky! At North Hempstead Beach, the town will be honoring our veterans with a tribute ceremony beginning at 6PM. Stay even later for some live music!

Marine and Navy Helicopter Landing. Visit Eisenhower Park on Sunday for a dramatic showcase of helicopter landings right into Kite Field. Make sure you’re there before 10AM so you don’t miss a thing. Bring your cameras too!

Brookhaven Fair. Take a drive to Farmingville for LI’s biggest fair. The celebration includes amusement rides, a petting zoo, “The Lance Gifford Magic & Illusion Show”, the “Dog and Pony Show”, karaoke, as well as Sunday evening fireworks. The fun continues until Monday - a great option for families!

Parades. Don’t forget to walk alongside your community’s annual Memorial Day parade on Monday morning. Take your family, friends, and pets too! This is one of the more significant ways to remember what this holiday is really about - honoring our troops.

Which Long Island events will you be attending? Tell us on Facebook! And if you run into any plumbing issues this weekend, don’t worry! Nassau Plumbing & Sewer Rooter is here for your emergency needs 24 hours - 7 days a week. Give us a call at 516.874.7937 or visit our website for more information.
